Weighting Comforts is a small business based in Nashville, Tennessee that makes weighted blankets to provide comfort for people suffering from sleeplessness and anxiety. As a social enterprise, Weighting Comforts partners with Sew for Hope, a non profit organization that teaches refugees to sew. When you purchase a Weighting Comforts blanket you’re helping provide the dignity of employment to documented refugees and immigrants.
Weighted blankets have been proven to help you relax, feel calmer, and fall asleep much easier.
In a recent study, 63% reported lower anxiety after use. Studies have shown that nervous systems calm down when under the weight of a heavy blanket. If anxiety is preventing you from getting quality sleep, this can go a long way toward fixing the problem - and often fix it entirely.

While pursuing a masters degree in marriage and family therapy, Donna, our founder, first noticed the effectiveness of a weighted blanket when she sewed them for clients who suffered from anxiety and reported a sense of relief. Word quickly spread about the blankets and soon Donna had partnered with her son Josh to sell blankets out of their garage.
Donna wanted to create a highest quality blanket possible for others who struggle with anxiety. Each weighted blanket is made from premium fabrics with Polypropylene weighted pellets in individual pockets for even weight distribution.
We partner with Sew For Hope, empowering international refugees to sew your blanket.
Sew For Hope is a non-profit organization that provides sewing machines and sewing classes for International Refugees that have been resettled in Middle Tennessee. Weighting Comforts is thrilled that their product is providing the opportunity for these refugees to make a living with artistry and skill.
If you're new to weighted blankets, we recommend that you choose the lightest weight available of the style you prefer. If after looking at this size chart you find yourself between two weights, we recommend you choose the lighter of the two.
